Families Honored at Garden Ceremony

Judith Camarto for the Kerley Family A recent ceremony in our Garden for Reflection and Prayer honored three special St. Anastasia families for their lifetime commitments to St. Anastasia School. Pastor Aloysius Funtila presided in the short morning ceremony attended by students, teacher and parents.

Fr. Aloy presented Judith Camarto with a framed letter of appreciation in memory of her parents, Don and Ginny Kerley. A paver was then installed in the Garden with a dedication that reads:

The Students of St. Anastasia School thank the Kerley Family for their generosity and leadership

Also honored at the ceremony were the Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Merkel Family, and the Mr. and Mrs. James Ratajczyk Family.

Engraved paver stones have been installed in the Garden to honor the contributions of both families.

"These three families have supported the children of St. Anastasia School over many decades with the contribution of their time, talent and treasure, " said Aloy. "Their long-term support has made a Catholic education possible for countless children."

Festival of Cultures Featured

Many thanks to Beth Kramer, photographer Thomas Delany, and the News-Sun for their coverage of the St. Anastasia Catholic School Festival of Cultures.  Perhaps you saw her article in May 28-29 edition of the paper.  Ms. Kramer wrote a wonderful story about this annual school event.  In the article, she highlighted the main goal of the event: helping to expanding our children's appreciation of the world's many cultures and to give them a global perspective.

“This Festival of Cultures ... is an effort to understand and learn about different cultures of the world. Children appreciate each other’s culture. Here at school, we are a mosaic of cultures,” Mon said.

Feel free to send Beth Kramer ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) your thanks for bringing attention to another fine program at St. Anastasia Catholic School.
